On Saturday 28th May, 34 Year 8 and 9 pupils and five teachers left at 6am for a 4 day trip to the historic town of Boulogne in France via the ferry in Dover.
When we arrived we visited “la chocolaterie de Beussent”, a traditional chocolate factory. We learnt where cocoa beans are from and how they are used to make chocolate. Of course, we tasted some and it was delicious! On Sunday, despite the rain, we spent the day at Bagatelle Theme Park and then went bowling in the evening. On Monday we visited a “boulangerie” (baker) and rolled some croissants. We ate
at a café before going to Nausicaaa, a sea-life centre where there was lots to see. We also had a talent show that evening which was won by Chris Mercer doing stand up comedy! On Tuesday we visited the Old town and pupils had the opportunity to order food and buy souvenirs in French. It was a very successful trip as some pupils comments suggest: “The trip was very enlightening and exciting all the time” and “It was very enjoyable with lots to do and see”.
