In April 2005 one of Colonel Frank Seely's Year 9 pupils, Hannah Walker-Smart was selected to play scrum-half for the East Midlands Under-14 regional girls Rugby team.
Having beaten teams from the North-West
and North-East, the side went to Rugby
School at the beginning of May to compete in
the National Regional Championships.
They were runners-up in their pool, winning
twice and losing once and therefore
qualified for the semi-finals.
They lost to the eventual winners South-West
before beating East Region in the third place
play-off match.
The team finished a very creditable third
and received medals from the England
Women's team captain.
Well done and congratulations to Hannah and good luck for any future events.
