The Headteacher of Colonel Frank Seely School, Calverton has thanked and praised the efforts of pupils, parents and staff in the lead up to this summer's GCSE examinations.

Headteacher Ian Gage commented: "We informed pupils last September that we would not be having study leave in Year 11, but would offer an in-school revision programme.
All pupils have been expected to attend normal lessons
up until Wednesday 15th June when the majority of
examinations are over. Our average attendance during the
revision programme has been over 91. This has been a
successful preparation for examinations and an initiative
we will keep for future years.

Full credit has to be given to teaching staff for the revision
programmes they have organised for pupils I have also
thanked pupils and parents for their support in making
this revision programme successful. Comments from
pupils have been positive. We have all worked hard and
pupils deserve to be successful because of the
combined efforts of themselves, their parents and
teachers." The Calverton based school only received two queries from parents wanting their children at home during the revision programme.

The Head commented: "Parents appreciate knowing where their children are and like what Colonel Frank Seely School offers in terms of an educational partnership."

The Specialist school for Mathematics and Computing is oversubscribed in all years except for some spaces in Year 8 from September. "We are attracting children from as far away as Southwell, Ravenshead and Nottingham so staff and pupils are getting the recognition they deserve across a wider area."
