During Year 7 many activities are undertaken
These include trips, sports and even going to see a pantomime.

Below are some views, of former Year 7 pupils, of the activities

'There are so many opportunities you have in this school, there is Orienteering at the beginning of the year, and bowling after school. There is also the Panto at Christmas time and the best trip of the year is the trip to Hadrians Wall in May. Other opportunities are after school activities, sports clubs like Netball, Tennis, Rugby and Athletics etc.'

Ten-Pin Bowling:

'You get a chance to go bowling. It is £10 per person and that includes two games and the coach to get there and back. Before you go you have time to get changed or go home.  Then everybody meets in the Hall, gets into their groups and gets on the coach. When you arrive you are shown to your lane. You get to play two games. Mr. Perry might come to your lane and have a go. When you have finished (about seven)
everybody goes upstairs and there is a disco. There are
snooker tables and a room with lots of loud music. When I
went, we arrived back at William Lee car park at 8. 45 p.m.'

'I'm gonna tell you about the bowling trip. When me and
my mates went it was dead good, you can mess around
with your mates!  If you get the chance to go, I would
recommend it, to you.  You will get more trips to go on
later on in the year. There are other things to do there
besides bowling, there is an Arcade, with different games!!!'

Touring Hadrians Wall:

'While you're in Year 7 you get the chance to go on a trip to Hadrians Wall to study the Roman Army. When you go, you get to go to a lot of Museums to learn more about all their forts.'

'On Saturday morning we had our breakfast at around 8:30 a.m. and after that we had free time to get ready for the day ahead. At 10:00 am we travelled to the Roman Army Museum where we had a question sheet and we had to look around the museum to get the answers.'

'We also watched a small film about Hadrians Wall that gave you more information about it.  When we came out of the Roman Army Museum we went on a walk along Hadrians Wall.  There were some really nice, scenic views but it was very windy at the top so we only stayed for about 20 minutes. After lunch we travelled to Vindolanda Fort. When we arrived, we looked at the old bathhouses, walked along them and then climbed up to the turrets where you could look out from. Then we went down to where the reconstructions of the temples were, and there were scenes where their story was told. We had time to look round the shop then we went back to Ridley Hall.'
